Elizabeth Demonte Cervone, Partner

Elizabeth (Lisa) Demonte Cervone is a partner at GMR Family Law LLP, where she practices exclusively in matrimonial and family law. While she typically considers alternative dispute resolution to be best for her clients, Lisa has litigated many cases where necessary.  Prior to resorting to litigation, Lisa counsels her clients regarding use of the collaborative process, mediation, arbitration, and med-arb.  She has negotiated complex financial and parenting settlements and has conducted multiple depositions and trials.  Lisa’s family law experience includes high income and asset contested divorces, simple uncontested divorces, allocation of parental responsibilities, relocation, interstate UIFSA and UCCJEA litigation, child support, maintenance, and domestic violence cases.  In certain cases, Lisa recommends independent financial experts, child specialists, or parenting coaches to assist in the process.

Lisa earned her Juris Doctorate from Loyola University Chicago School of Law with a Certificate in Child and Family Law.  She graduated summa cum laude from DePaul University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management.  Lisa is also a graduate of the prestigious National Family Law Trial Institute in Houston, Texas in May of 2017, led by the some of the most accomplished trial lawyers in family law in the country.  In addition, Lisa is a published author, having written scholarly articles on topics affecting her clients, including recent trends and proposed changes to domestic relations law.

Lisa’s background and education in business and financial matters, gained through formal education and training and also through practical hands-on experience, has allowed her to achieve favorable settlements for clients in sophisticated financial matters.  Lisa has a client-focused approach to family law, and prides herself on resolving conflicts for her clients with honesty, integrity, and zealous advocacy.
