Clare E. Fogarty, Associate
Clare is an associate attorney at GMR Family Law LLP who brings a compassionate, strategic, and client‑focused approach to family law matters. She understands that divorce and parentage disputes are deeply personal and often emotionally charged, and she prioritizes guiding clients toward thoughtful, low‑conflict resolutions whenever possible.
While Clare has a strong background in complex litigation and is fully prepared to advocate for her clients in court when necessary, her primary focus is resolving matters efficiently and constructively outside of the courtroom. Her experience at large Chicago law firms handling complex commercial litigation has sharpened her analytical skills, attention to detail, and strategic judgment, allowing her to realistically assess risk and litigate effectively when required, while remaining committed to minimizing conflict, emotional strain, and financial expense. Clare works closely with clients to develop solutions that protect their interests while promoting stability and forward‑looking outcomes.
Clare’s perspective is further informed by her judicial experience. During law school at the University of Chicago Law School, she served as a judicial extern, and after graduating, she continued to build on this experience as a judicial law clerk, gaining valuable insight into judicial decision‑making and dispute resolution. This experience strengthens her ability to counsel clients thoughtfully and position matters for resolution.
