Madelyn King, Partner

Madelyn is an accomplished family law attorney bringing over a decade of experience to her practice. Madelyn understands not only the family law system and legal landscape, but also the personal nuance of individual families navigating unfamiliar terrain. Madelyn fosters a trusting and open client relationship, prioritizing a collaborative working environment that elevates her client’s needs, concerns, and priorities across the continuum of services. Madelyn is recognized for her empathetic approach and is a trusted by families seeking a peaceful path through challenging times. Madelyn is a fierce advocate of mediation and alternative dispute resolution but understands that is not the appropriate path for some families. Accordingly, Madelyn also brings advanced litigation and trial experience in representing clients whose situations require a more traditional legal approach.

Madelyn graduated with a Juris Doctorate from DePaul College of Law as a family law fellow of the Schiller DuCanto and Fleck Family Law Center, and earned a Certificate in Child and Family Law. Further, she volunteered at Cook County Domestic Violence Courthouse where she assisted clients in pursuit of civil orders of protection. Madelyn also volunteered as a court appointed CASA advocate for children in the child welfare system ensuring their interests were represented in complex child neglect and abuse cases. In her free time, Madelyn is a DONA trained birth doula. She takes a special interest in supporting parents through pregnancy, labor, and early parenthood. She also enjoys spending time with her husband and three young children, particularly in the outdoors.
