Katherine Lent


Practicing family law exclusively, Katherine is committed to zealously representing her clients and helping them through this difficult time in their lives. She represents clients in whichever forum best fits a client’s needs, whether it be litigation, mediation or collaborative divorce.

Prior to joining Griffin McCarthy & Rice, Katherine practiced at another boutique family law firm, where she represented clients in all aspects of family and matrimonial litigation. During her second summer in law school Katherine externed for the Honorable Grace Dickler, Presiding Judge of Cook County Domestic Relations Division and the Honorable Regina Scannicchio, Circuit Judge of the Cook County Domestic Relations Division.

Katherine received her Juris Doctor from the University of Richmond School of Law in 2015. She graduated cum laude with a Certificate of Concentration in Family Law with Distinction and received the CALI Award for the highest grade in Ethics in Family Law. While in law school, Katherine served as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Law and the Public Interest at Richmond. She is also a lifetime member of the Phi Delta Phi International Legal Honor Society. Katherine received her Bachelor’s Degree (with honors) from the University of Michigan, where she studied political science and history.
