Karla Marroquin, Partner
Karla Marroquin received her Juris Doctorate from Chicago-Kent College of Law. She received her undergraduate degree from DePaul University (cum laude), and was elected to the Pi Sigma Alpha and Alpha Kappa Delta honor societies.
While in law school, Karla focused her studies on family law and worked at the Chicago-Kent family law clinic where she was exposed to every aspect of family law. She held a Judicial Externship with the Honorable Raul Vega and the Honorable Naomi H. Schuster in the Domestic Relations Division of the Circuit Court of Cook County. Karla was selected to participate in the Intensive International Trial Advocacy course held in Ireland where she advanced her trial advocacy skills. Karla also focused her studies on mediation and alternative dispute resolution and graduated with a Certificate in Litigation and Alternate Dispute Resolution and became a certified mediator with Chicago’s Center for Conflict Resolution.
Prior to joining GMR Family Law LLP, Karla practiced family law at another Chicago law firm where she represented individuals in all aspects of family and matrimonial law. Karla comes to GMR Family Law with substantial and valuable experience and focuses on working with her clients through one of the most difficult times of their lives.
